Want to join the Immigrant Artist Network?

Apply to be a part of the IAN Spring 2023 Virtual Salon.

WHAT: A Virtual Salon is a six session, bi-weekly, supportive environment hosted by Rupy C. Tut and Sindhu Natarajan for immigrant artists (and their comrades ) of any discipline, background, geography, or level to present a work-in-progress, receive feedback from their peers, and practice giving feedback to other artists.

WHO: This opportunity is open to any immigrant artist (or artists who are comrades to immigrants) of any practice, geography, generation, skill level, gender, or culture who has artwork in progress that they want to get feedback on.

WHEN: FRIDAYS - 4/7, 4/21, 5/5, 5/19, 6/2, 6/16 - from 10am to 12pm PST / 1pm to 3pm EST.

WHERE: Virtual Salons take place on Zoom. We encourage anyone anywhere in the world who is an immigrant artist and can make the times of the salons to apply. Sessions are currently facilitated in English.

WHY: The pandemic revealed that immigrant artists, regardless of where they reside or the reason for their immigration, do not have enough opportunities to share the development of their artworks in ways that are supportive of their own goals and desires. The Immigrant Artist Network was created to foster mutual exchange, care, and support between and among immigrant artists and their comrades. Our first offering was a Virtual Salon in Spring 2022 that convened approximately 20 artists over eight sessions in peer-based sharing. We facilitated a second Virtual Salon in Fall 2022 with host Amer Singh. In Spring 2023, Rupy C. Tut and Sindhu Natarajan are hosting a six session Virtual Salon. In addition to our Virtual Salons, we hold monthly Creative Sessions and Advisory Group meetings to determine the course of the IAN. To be invited into our Creative Sessions and Advisory Group, you must first participate in a Virtual Salon.
